Canada's soft immigration system takes harsh stance on British activist
Suddenly, Canada’s usually soft immigration and border entry system is throwing the book at somebody. That somebody is British free-speech activist Tommy Robinson. Robinson was arrested and detained by what looked like 10 law enforcement officers, some wearing lumberjack or farming attire, outside of a Calgary hotel after his speaking event Monday night. He was handcuffed and taken away. With it being undercover officers, it seemed at first like a kidnapping or rendition without much information on why he was being grabbed. It harkened to the perceived dictatorial hand of the Trudeau government’s Emergencies Act declaration during the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa in 2022. (PHOTO BY TOLGA AKMEN /AFP via Getty Images)
